Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Rate: £140 - £220 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

About the School:

The school provides specialist education for secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and is committed to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every young person can achieve their potential.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and personalised lessons to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning requirements.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons that meet individual needs, abilities, and EHCP outcomes.
• Create a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
• Build positive relationships with students, using a trauma-informed and relational approach to support engagement and progress.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence building, social development, and preparation for adulthood.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, pastoral teams, and families to provide consistent support.

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties, or complex additional needs.
• A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour support strategies.
• Experience working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour, anxiety, low confidence, or barriers to learning.
• A calm, patient, resilient, and consistent approach to classroom management.
• The ability to build trusting relationships with young people and support their individual needs.
• The flexibility and creativity to adapt teaching approaches, resources, and interventions to support a diverse range of learners.

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child-related references.
