Prospero Teaching is delighted to be supporting a specialist SEN school in Fareham, catering for pupils aged 7-11 with a wide range of additional needs. The school offers a highly nurturing, structured and personalised learning environment, with small class sizes of up to 10 pupils, sensory‑friendly learning spaces, large classrooms, outdoor play areas, and a high staff‑to‑pupil ratio.

This provision is designed to support pupils with diverse SEN profiles, ensuring they experience meaningful learning, emotional security and opportunities to develop independence.

About the Role

The SEN Class Teacher will lead a small, well‑supported primary class, delivering a personalised curriculum that meets the individual needs of pupils with a range of SEN.

You will:

  • Deliver high‑quality, individualised teaching to pupils with varied learning, communication and sensory needs
  • Plan and deliver a multi‑sensory, highly differentiated curriculum aligned with pupils' EHCP outcomes
  • Create and adapt resources to support communication, sensory regulation, accessibility and engagement
  • Foster pupils' emotional wellbeing and independence through consistent routines and nurturing relationships
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff and families to ensure coordinated, holistic support
  • Promote engagement, resilience and progress through personalised teaching approaches
  • Contribute positively to a warm, collaborative school community

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within primary or specialist settings
  • Strong understanding of sensory learning, communication development and inclusive pedagogy
  • Confidence supporting pupils with a range of needs (full training provided)
  • Creativity, emotional resilience and a nurturing, child‑centred approach
  • A genuine passion for helping every child achieve their full potential
