We are currently recruiting for a strong and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Acton, West London.
The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and will be confident providing both one-to-one and small-group support across the school.
The RoleAs an SEN LSA, you will be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism and other communication and learning needs.
- Running structured intervention groups to support pupils' academic, communication and developmental progress.
- Delivering interventions linked to Speech & Language, Occupational Therapy (OT) and Phonics.
- Supporting pupils to develop their communication, confidence, independence and learning skills.
- Keeping accurate and detailed notes and records of pupil progress, interventions and outcomes.
- Using a PC and school-based systems confidently to record information and communicate effectively with staff.
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support.
- Helping to create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with their emotional, social and behavioural development where required.
- Has previous experience working within a SEN/SEND school or mainstream setting supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Has experience supporting children with Autism and/or communication and learning difficulties.
- Is confident running structured interventions, particularly Speech & Language, OT and Phonics.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills and is confident keeping detailed pupil notes.
- Is comfortable using computers and school IT systems.
- Is patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Can work effectively as part of a wider SEN and teaching team.
- Is proactive, reliable and confident working independently.
- Has a genuine passion for helping children with additional needs reach their full potential.
