SEN Outreach Tutor Required We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Outreach Tutor to join our specialist provision in High Wycombe from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves working with a small caseload of up to 5 pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who are unable to access a full-time classroom environment. You will deliver personalised learning programmes at various community locations, helping pupils re-engage with education, build confidence, and work towards their academic and personal development goals.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and capable of adapting teaching approaches to meet a range of individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, tailored educational support to up to 5 SEN pupils.
- Provide one-to-one and small group tuition outside of a traditional classroom setting.
- Create engaging and differentiated learning plans based on individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils with emotional, social, behavioural and learning difficulties.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and attendance.
- Work closely with parents, carers, school staff and external professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and confidence in learning.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
✅ Experience delivering tuition, teaching, mentoring or educational intervention programmes.
✅ Strong understanding of a range of SEN needs, including:
- Autism (ASD)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties
✅ Ability to work independently and manage your own timetable.
✅ Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
✅ Ability to travel between multiple locations across High Wycombe and surrounding areas.
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable ⭐ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
⭐ Experience within specialist SEN settings.
⭐ Experience supporting pupils who are out of school or at risk of exclusion.
⭐ Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND Code of Practice.
⭐ Experience delivering outreach or alternative provision education.
