A specialist school in Trowbridge is looking for a caring, patient, and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. The school works with children aged 5-16 who have a range of additional needs, including Autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication challenges, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

In this role, you'll play an important part in helping children engage with their education and develop their confidence and independence. Working both individually and with small groups, you'll provide tailored support based on each child's unique needs and learning style.

Your responsibilities will include helping children participate in lessons, adapting activities where required, encouraging communication and positive social interaction, and supporting children with emotional regulation and behaviour throughout the school day. You'll work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers and specialist professionals to deliver individual learning plans and monitor children's development.

This position also provides the opportunity to learn from experienced education and SEN professionals, giving you a valuable insight into the different approaches used to support children with complex and additional needs.
