About the Role
As a Cover SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide high-quality classroom support on an ad hoc basis, covering staff absence and additional staffing needs. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and school staff to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning differences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in lessons and throughout the school day.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Adapt to different classes, age groups, and learning needs.
- Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN or educational setting.
- Is calm, patient, resilient, and flexible.
- Can build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
- Is confident adapting to different school environments.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
