Pay: £95 - £110 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (8:30am – 4:00pm)

About the Role:

Vocational Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest to appoint a caring and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a nursery setting starting in September 2026.

This rewarding role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support for a nursery-aged child with Cerebral Palsy. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the child can access learning in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

The school is seeking a patient, proactive, and compassionate practitioner who can act as a positive role model and provide consistent support for the child’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a nursery child with Cerebral Palsy
  • Support access to learning and participation in daily activities
  • Assist with physical, communication, and personal care needs where required
  • Implement strategies outlined in the child’s EHCP
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Encourage independence and engagement through adapted learning activities
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
  • Maintain accurate communication and feedback regarding progress

Requirements for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (essential)
  • Understanding of working with children with physical disabilities (desirable)
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and individual support plans
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to act as a positive role model
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
