Are you a passionate Primary Teacher with experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs?We are currently seeking Primary SEN Teachers to work across specialist SEN schools in Newham and the surrounding East London area.
We are particularly interested in hearing from teachers who have previous experience working within an SEN/SEND school or specialist setting, as well as qualified teachers with SEN qualifications or strong experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to the educational, social and emotional development of pupils with additional needs.
The Role
As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, accessible and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, families and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the Primary curriculum.
- Differentiating learning to meet a range of individual needs and abilities.
- Creating a positive, nurturing and structured classroom environment.
- Supporting pupils with their academic, social, emotional and communication development.
- Implementing individual learning plans and working towards pupils' EHCP outcomes.
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress.
- Working collaboratively with support staff and other professionals.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
- Supporting pupils to develop independence, confidence and life skills.
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high expectations for all pupils.
We would particularly welcome applications from teachers who have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within an SEN/SEND school or specialist setting, or significant experience working with pupils with additional needs.
- An understanding of how to differentiate teaching for pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.
- A patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- A commitment to inclusive education and ensuring every pupil reaches their potential.
Relevant SEN/SEND qualifications or additional training are also welcomed.
