The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you'll work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop personalised learning strategies and monitor pupil progress.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for every learner.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs, either in specialist or mainstream settings.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.
