SEN Teacher - Off-Site Provision

he successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a small group of approximately four pupils, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in Maths and English, alongside supporting pupils with their wider educational and personal development.



The Role

  • Teaching a small group of approximately 4 pupils within an off-site provision.
  • Planning and delivering engaging Maths and English lessons.
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
  • Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Creating a positive, consistent and nurturing learning environment.
  • Developing strong relationships with pupils and helping them build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Managing challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies and a calm, consistent approach.
  • Supporting pupils to develop their academic, social and emotional skills.
  • Working closely with support staff and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support.
  • Helping pupils re-engage with education and work towards positive outcomes.


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who is:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experienced working with SEN/SEMH pupils.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour.
  • Patient, resilient and empathetic.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced difficulties within education.
  • Creative and adaptable in their approach to teaching.
  • Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential.
  • Confident teaching Maths and English.

Experience within an alternative provision, PRU, SEN school or SEMH setting would be highly desirable, although applications from teachers with strong mainstream behaviour-management experience will also be considered.
