SEN Teacher – Primary Resource Base

Location: Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Start: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: £150–£200 per day, depending on experience

Looking for a SEN teaching role where you can genuinely get to know your pupils and make a difference?

We are working with a lovely Primary School in Weston-super-Mare who are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to join their specialist resource base from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a very small group of primary-aged pupils, with needs including ASD and SEMH, in a calm and nurturing environment.

The pupils are working across KS1 and KS2, and the role offers the opportunity to deliver a genuinely personalised curriculum, adapting learning around each child's individual needs, interests and abilities.

About the role

You will be responsible for teaching a small class within the school's resource base, planning and delivering engaging primary-level lessons whilst supporting pupils with their wider development.

With such small class sizes, you will have the opportunity to build strong, positive relationships with your pupils and really understand how each child learns best.

The role would suit a Primary Teacher who has SEN experience, or a teacher looking to move into specialist provision. Experience with ASD and/or SEMH would be highly desirable.

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Has QTS and Primary teaching experience
  • Has experience working with children with SEN
  • Understands ASD and/or SEMH
  • Can adapt and personalise the curriculum
  • Is calm, patient and consistent
  • Builds strong relationships with children
  • Has high expectations but understands the importance of meeting pupils where they are
  • Is passionate about helping children make progress both academically and personally

Previous experience in a resource base, specialist provision or SEN setting would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Why this role?

  • Very small class sizes
  • Primary-level teaching across KS1/KS2
  • A supportive and nurturing environment
  • The opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils
  • A highly personalised approach to learning
  • Support from an experienced SEN team
  • A long-term opportunity within a North Somerset primary school

If you're a Primary Teacher who wants to move into SEN, or an experienced SEN Teacher looking for a smaller and more personalised setting, we'd love to hear from you.
