  • Lead and manage a classroom, taking responsibility for the day-to-day organisation, routines, behaviour and learning environment.
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated and inclusive lessons to pupils with SEN and additional needs.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development through personalised strategies and targeted interventions.
  • Work closely with the SENCo, class teachers and support staff to ensure effective provision for pupils with SEN.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers, communicating confidently about pupil progress, behaviour, needs and support strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessments, intervention planning and individual support plans.
  • Assist the SENCo with SEN provision, meetings, administration and wider responsibilities across the school.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive environment, modelling excellent practice and sharing effective SEN strategies with colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:

  • Have relevant experience working with pupils with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • Have proven room/class leadership experience and be confident taking responsibility for a classroom independently.
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and the ability to establish clear, consistent routines.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with parents and carers.
  • Be confident planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons and interventions.
  • Have a strong understanding of SEN and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
  • Be proactive, reliable and confident working alongside the SENCo and wider school team.
  • QTS is desirable but not essential - relevant experience, classroom leadership skills and the ability to build strong relationships are key.
