An excellent opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a well-established specialist school in Enfield this September. The successful candidate will be teaching a Year 5/6 class, where pupils are working at Early Years to Year 1 developmental levels.

This is a rewarding role for a nurturing and creative teacher who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping every pupil achieve their full potential through a personalised, engaging curriculum.

The Role

  • Teach a small Year 5/6 class of pupils working at Early Years to Year 1 learning levels.
  • Deliver a highly differentiated, sensory and communication-focused curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils' communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence.
  • Work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Use or be willing to develop knowledge of communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, visual timetables, and AAC.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom where every child can thrive.


About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism and complex learning needs, is desirable.
  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate teacher with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to differentiate learning effectively.
  • Available to start in September and able to interview immediately.
