Salary: £120 - £145 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist educational setting in Northumberland that supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting provides a nurturing environment where positive relationships, consistency and therapeutic approaches are at the heart of helping pupils achieve their potential.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher on a long-term basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right SEND Teacher. The successful SEND Teacher will work closely with pupils with SEMH, trauma and challenging behaviour, delivering engaging lessons while promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and academic progress.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Experience working with children and young people with SEMH and trauma
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence supporting challenging behaviour
• A nurturing, patient and resilient approach to teaching
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
