SEN Teacher - Complex Needs & Autism - September Start

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a highly respected specialist SEND school in North West London to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher for a September start.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-resourced and supportive specialist setting that provides education for pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), speech and language needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and complex medical needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering highly personalised learning programmes that enable pupils to develop academically, socially, emotionally, and independently. You will work closely with therapists, support staff, and families to ensure every pupil receives the best possible educational experience.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress using a personalised approach to learning
  • Work collaboratively with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and support staff
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of communication, sensory, physical, and learning needs
  • Lead and support a team of Teaching Assistants within the classroom
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, or a strong interest in specialist education
  • Knowledge of autism, severe learning difficulties, communication needs, or complex learning profiles
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • A creative, flexible, and child-centred approach to teaching
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
