Core Responsibilities

In your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will guide pupils through their individual learning plans:

• 1:1 & Small Group Support: Adapt daily activities to suit the learning speed and sensory requirements of pupils in Ellesmere Port.
• Behaviour & Sensory Strategies: Implement positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation methods to maintain engagement.
• Collaboration: Partner with class teachers, speech therapists, and SENCOs to track individual milestones in Ellesmere Port.
• Classroom Inclusion: Encourage social interaction and help build pupil independence during classroom routines.

Candidate Profile

• Practical experience serving as an SEN Teaching Assistant or working with SEND children in care/community settings.
• Strong patience, communication skills, and emotional resilience in challenging situations.
• Dedication to continuous professional development and specialised education and training.
• An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process one through Academics).
