Key Responsibilities
Supporting children with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and associated learning difficulties
- Providing one-to-one and small-group interventions tailored to individual pupil needs
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence, communication, and emotional wellbeing
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to observations, reviews, and support plans
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting, or a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs
- This role is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teaching or another child-focused profession
- A calm, patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and a commitment to helping every child reach their potential
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
- An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educational practice, or a willingness to undertake training
