SEN Teaching Assistant - Ashford
Academics are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a selection of our client schools across Ashford. We work with a range of specialist settings, each supporting pupils with different needs, making this a great opportunity for candidates looking to develop their experience within SEN.
Our schools cater for pupils with needs including ASC, SEMH, ADHD, communication and interaction difficulties and complex learning needs. You will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence and get the most from their education.
Depending on the individual school and pupils you are supporting, your responsibilities could include providing 1:1 assistance, supporting small groups and working alongside the class teacher within the classroom. You will be part of a wider team focused on creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for every pupil.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are empathetic, patient and adaptable, with the confidence to respond to different situations and build positive relationships with young people. Previous experience within SEN would be beneficial, but it is not essential. Experience in education, care, youth work, mentoring, sports or other support-based roles can also provide excellent transferable skills.
