We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Romford area to support a small group of Reception and Year 1 children with Autism and Complex Needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities and Qualification
- Provide tailored support to a small group of Reception and Year 1 children with ASD and Complex Needs.
- Support children's communication, interaction, emotional regulation, and independence skills.
- Support personal care needs where required.
- Use visual timetables, sensory strategies, and structured routines to support engagement and transitions throughout the day.
- Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, calm, and nurturing learning environment
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Care, SEND or Psychology qualification.
