Are you an experienced teaching assistant who understands how to help autistic pupils feel secure, included and ready to learn?
Transparency Education is recruiting a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) for a welcoming school in Lambeth. This long-term position offers the chance to build a consistent relationship with a pupil or small group and make a visible difference to their confidence, communication and engagement.

Key responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with autism.
• Use visual timetables, clear routines and appropriate communication strategies.
• Support learning, emotional regulation, social interaction and independence.
• Help pupils manage transitions and changes to their school day.
• Record progress and share relevant observations with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Promote inclusion while maintaining high expectations.

Requirements
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) will ideally have:
• Recent experience supporting children or young people with autism.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• The ability to follow individual education, behaviour or support plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A relevant qualification or autism training, although substantial practical experience will also be considered.
