Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity within a specialist SEN school?

Aspire People are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist SEN school in Telford on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is nurturing, patient and passionate about supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs across mixed age groups.

🌟 The Role

Supporting children and young people across mixed age ranges
Working within a specialist SEN school setting
Supporting pupils with a range of complex and additional needs
Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
Supporting pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other learning and developmental needs
Supporting pupils with their communication, learning, social and emotional development
Helping children and young people to regulate their emotions and manage behaviour positively
Supporting pupils with their independence and life skills
Utilising sensory spaces, safe spaces and specialist areas within the school
Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to meet individual needs
Building strong, trusting and positive relationships with pupils
Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Ideally, you will have:

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching & Learning / Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
Experience within a specialist SEN school, specialist provision or similar setting would be highly beneficial
Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex additional needs
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
A patient, calm, empathetic and nurturing approach
The ability to remain calm and consistent when supporting challenging or dysregulated behaviour
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
No formal qualification? No problem! Strong and relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN will also be considered.
