Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Autism Base from September.
This is a full-time opportunity for a caring, patient, and proactive individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support pupils with autism within a specialist Autism Base setting.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Promote pupils' social, emotional, and communication development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage independence and celebrate individual achievements.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (school-based experience desirable).
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and able to respond to individual pupil needs.
  • Holds relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEND support (desirable but not essential).
