SEN Teaching Assistant - College Setting

Location: Romford
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a college supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with SEN students, ideally within a school, college, specialist education or care setting. You will be responsible for providing high-quality 1:1 and classroom support, helping students develop their independence, communication and learning skills while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students is essential
  • Experience supporting students with complex needs is desirable
  • Valid Hoisting Certificate is essential
  • Must hold a Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient, caring and supportive approach
  • Ability to work confidently as part of a wider SEN team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students


The Role:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Supporting students with a range of additional needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting personal care and mobility where required
  • Assisting with learning and classroom activities
  • Supporting students to develop independence and life skills
  • Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals
