SEN Teaching Assistant – Global Developmental Delay – Westminster

Location: Westminster, Central London
Pay: £105–£120 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: September 2026

Enrich Education Recruitment is working with a supportive 2-form-entry primary school in Westminster seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with global developmental delay.

The pupil requires additional support with communication, accessing classroom activities, social interaction and developing independence.

This would be an excellent role for a nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with younger children and celebrating the smaller milestones that can represent significant progress.

The Role

Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you'll:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support

  • Adapt activities to the pupil's developmental level

  • Support speech, language and communication

  • Use visual and practical learning resources

  • Support early literacy and numeracy

  • Encourage interaction and play with peers

  • Help with classroom routines and transitions

  • Support personal and social development

  • Encourage confidence and independence

Essential Skills & Experience

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

  • SEN or EYFS/KS1 experience

  • Experience supporting developmental or learning needs

  • A nurturing and patient approach

  • Strong communication skills

  • Confidence adapting learning activities

  • Reliability and consistency

  • The ability to commit long-term

Experience with speech and language interventions, PECS, Makaton, visual communication, sensory activities or early-years learning strategies would be advantageous.

The School

The school is an inclusive 2-form-entry primary with a close-knit staff team and a strong focus on supporting individual pupil needs.

You'll work alongside experienced classroom staff and have regular support from the school's SENCO and wider SEN team.

The school is very well connected by public transport, with Underground, and numerous bus routes making it accessible from across Central, West and North West London.
