Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Specialist)

Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:45am–3:45pm), Full Term Commitment Required
Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Newcastle. This is a full-time role supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a nurturing and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students with ASD in both 1:1 and small group/class settings

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons

Provide emotional and behavioural support tailored to individual needs

Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Encourage student independence and social development

Adapt to working flexibly across different classes and age groups
Requirements:

Previous experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ASD (essential)

A caring, patient, and nurturing approach

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to commit to the full academic term

A proactive and flexible attitude
