Sen Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming and inclusive school in Morpeth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential within a supportive UK classroom environment.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
  • Help create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD in a UK school or classroom setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and autism-friendly approaches.
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
