Ace Academics are recruiting a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Hammersmith & Fulham.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an extremely small, highly personalised learning environment, with typically just 1–2 pupils in a class. You will support primary-aged pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional needs, helping them re-engage with education and make progress academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
- Supporting SEN primary-aged pupils in classes of typically just 1–2 students
- Providing intensive 1:1 and highly personalised support
- Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs
- Helping pupils access literacy, numeracy and the wider primary curriculum
- Building trusted relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education
- Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour
- Adapting your approach to each pupil's individual needs and learning style
- Working closely with teachers, SEN professionals and pastoral staff
- Helping create a calm, nurturing and consistent learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA, Learning Support Practitioner or SEND Support Worker
- Experience supporting primary-aged children with additional needs
- Comfortable working closely with pupils on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis
- Experience with SEN and/or SEMH is highly desirable
- Patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Confident supporting children who may require additional help with engagement, behaviour or emotional regulation
- A genuine interest in specialist and alternative education
- Committed to safeguarding and pupil well-being
