Protocol Education is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a specialist Autism school in North Bristol (BS35). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while working in a supportive and specialist educational environment.

Due to the school's location, access by car is essential, so candidates must be able to drive and have reliable transport.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Autism and additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence and build confidence.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs.
  • Assisting with classroom learning and activities.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Encouraging communication, independence and social development.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider school team.
  • Creating a safe, calm and supportive learning environment.
‍ Who We're Looking For

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Have previous Teaching Assistant or relevant school-based experience.
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with Autism or SEND.
  • Are drivers with access to their own reliable vehicle due to the school's location.
  • Are available to work full-time, although part-time or flexible availability may also be considered.
  • Are patient, resilient, caring and adaptable.
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
