Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting children and young people with additional needs?

A welcoming and inclusive Specialist School in Reading is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education who wants to support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Supporting pupils to access classroom learning and activities.
• Helping pupils develop their confidence, communication and independence.
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Adapting activities and communication to meet individual needs.
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Creating a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role would suit someone with experience in education, childcare, care, youth work or support work. Experience working with SEN, autism, SEMH or other additional needs would be highly desirable.
