Flexible SEN Teaching Assistant – All-Through SEN School

Location: Lichfield
Salary: £95-£115 per day / £475-£575 per week
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Are you adaptable, energetic, and looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference every day?

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded all-through SEN school that supports pupils from primary age through to Year 11. The school caters for a wide range of special educational needs, meaning no two days are ever the same. Whilst some pupils may be older in age, their learning and communication needs can vary significantly, so flexibility, patience, and creativity are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than just a support role. The school is passionate about developing talented staff and creating long-term careers within SEN education.

Who Could Be a Great Fit?

You may already have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or SEN Practitioner. Equally, you could be looking to transfer skills from another background such as:

  • Acting and theatre
  • Sports coaching
  • Swimming instruction
  • Youth work
  • Care and support work
  • Creative arts
  • Outdoor education
  • Community projects
  • Family experience supporting someone with additional needs

If you are enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to helping young people succeed, we would love to hear from you.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs throughout the school day
  • Working across different age groups and abilities
  • Helping pupils access learning both in and out of the classroom
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and social development
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and life skills

What We're Looking For

  • A flexible and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Patience, resilience, and empathy
  • A genuine desire to build a rewarding career within SEN education

A School That Values What Makes You Unique

One of the most exciting aspects of this role is the school's commitment to enrichment and personal development.

Every Friday, dedicated time is built into the timetable for staff development, CPD, and enrichment activities. The school actively encourages staff to bring their own interests, talents, and passions into the setting.

Whether you:

Play a musical instrument, enjoy drama or performance, coach a sport, love art or creative projects, have practical skills such as carpentry or construction, have a specialist hobby or interest.

The school will support opportunities for you to share these skills with students through clubs, enrichment sessions, and wider school activities.

What You'll Receive

  • Comprehensive training and ongoing CPD
  • Career progression opportunities within SEN education
  • A supportive and collaborative staff team
  • The chance to make a genuine impact on pupils' lives every day
  • Opportunities to lead or support enrichment programmes and clubs
  • A school culture that celebrates individuality, creativity, and personal growth

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a school where relationships matter, individuality is celebrated, and every member of staff is encouraged to make a meaningful contribution to the wider school community.
