Location: Southwark, London
Salary: £93 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Contract: Temporary; full-time availability preferred, working pattern to be agreed
Start date: 05/10/2026
Hours: Term time - 8:30 - 3:30 - school day

For some pupils, feeling ready to learn takes time and consistent support. Transparency Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark to work with children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
You will help pupils manage the demands of the school day, practise positive coping strategies and take part in lessons. We are looking for someone who is encouraging, dependable and able to respond thoughtfully when behaviour becomes challenging.

Responsibilities
• Build positive working relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
• Support planned check-ins, classroom activities and structured interventions
• Help pupils use agreed strategies for emotional regulation
• Prepare children for changes in routine and unstructured periods
• Support a calm return to learning following difficulties
• Record incidents and progress in line with school procedures

Requirements
• Experience supporting SEMH needs, behaviour or emotional wellbeing
• A consistent approach and confidence remaining calm under pressure
• The ability to recognise concerns and report them appropriately
• Experience in a school, mentoring, youth or care setting
• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one.
