Pay: £14.30 – £16.00 per hour (depending on experience)

We are working in partnership with a very special SEND school; a highly regarded specialist setting in West Suffolk, to recruit a compassionate and committed SEND Learning Support Specialist to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or support worker who is passionate about inclusive education and understands the importance of consistency, empathy and high‑quality support.

Your role

As a SEND Learning Support Specialist, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SLD, PMLD and complex needs
  • Support students with communication, sensory and emotional regulation
  • Assist with personal care and physical support where required
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams
  • Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement through creative learning strategies
Who we’re looking for

You may be ideal for this role if you have:

  • Experience working with SEND, SLD, PMLD or complex needs
  • A background in education, care, support work or psychology
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who need consistency

Relevant experience includes:
SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEND support worker, care assistant, behaviour support, youth work or school‑based support roles.
