Sen Teaching Assistant

Sprint Education Recruitment

SEN Teaching Assistant Coventry, Long-Term Placements in Schools

Looking for a long-term placement supporting students with SEN and complex needs, across primary, secondary and alternative provision?

Ask anyone who's done this work well and they'll describe the same thing. Weeks of small adjustments and patience, then a morning where a breakthrough happens. A student manages a transition. They ask for help instead of leaving the room.

Sprint Education Recruitment works with mainstream and specialist settings across Coventry, placing experienced SEN Teaching Assistants (ideally 6+ months in the classroom) into long-term roles.

We work with settings in Coventry and the surrounding area, so if you'd be travelling in from Bedworth, Nuneaton, Rugby or Kenilworth, it's still worth showing your interest.

What SEN Teaching Assistant work involves

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, both in class and in quieter spaces
  • Putting agreed communication, learning and regulation strategies into practice consistently
  • Building a familiar, dependable relationship with the same students over a term or longer
  • Feeding back clearly to teachers and the SENCO so plans can be adjusted
  • Adapting to how each setting works, since no two run things the same way
  • Supporting personal care or physical needs in some settings, where that's part of the role

What we're looking for

  • Experience supporting children or young people, in schools (ideal), care, youth work or volunteering
  • A degree or ongoing study in Psychology, Education or a related subject is welcome, though not essential alongside relevant experience
  • Interest in the needs you're likely to encounter, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language
  • A calm, unhurried presence, particularly at the harder points in a day
  • Willingness to take direction from the staff who know the student best
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability for full-time, long-term or permanent work
  • You'll need the right to work in the UK

What we offer

Weekly PAYE pay. A named consultant who'll give you an honest brief of a setting before you commit to it. Access to CPD as you build experience. Placements structured for continuity, because consistency is the foundation of student progress.

Why Sprint?

If you're looking to work as a teacher in a mainstream classroom, providing day-to-day supply cover, we're probably not the agency for you. But if you're a Teaching Assistant who's passionate about supporting students with additional needs and want a long-term role where you can build consistency and see the impact of your work every day, that's exactly what we do.
