We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and supportive One to One Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Sutton Coldfield. This is a full time position starting ASAP, with the role continuing on an ongoing basis and the potential to become a long term opportunity.

The successful candidate will provide one to one academic support to a KS2 pupil, helping them engage confidently with their learning and make positive progress in the classroom. The pupil has good behaviour, with the main focus of the role being academic support, encouragement and providing consistent individual attention.

The school has a strong SEN provision and a collaborative staff team who work closely together to ensure pupils receive the right support both academically and socially.

The Role

  • Providing dedicated one to one academic support to a KS2 pupil
  • Helping the pupil access and engage confidently with the curriculum
  • Reinforcing classroom learning and supporting continued progress
  • Working closely with the class teacher to meet the pupil's individual needs
  • Supporting the development of confidence, independence and positive learning habits
  • Providing patient, consistent and encouraging support throughout the school day
  • Building a positive relationship with the pupil and acting as a trusted source of support
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting
  • Experience providing one to one or small group support would be beneficial
  • Confident supporting pupils with their academic development
  • Patient, caring and approachable
  • Able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils
  • Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting children's progress
  • A strong team player who works well alongside teachers and support staff
  • Passionate about helping pupils develop their confidence and independence

Salary: Dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

Minimum requirements: Previous experience working within a school setting is required.
