SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD – Secondary School 

Location: Barnet, London
Salary: £90–£100 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract: Full-time, Long-term Temporary
Start: September 2026 – immediate/as soon as possible

Teach Now is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support secondary pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Barnet.

You will provide structured, consistent support that helps pupils successfully access lessons, manage school routines and develop greater independence.

Key responsibilities
  • Support pupils with ASD across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support.
  • Help pupils manage changes, transitions and classroom expectations.
  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Adapt learning materials where appropriate.
  • Work alongside teachers and SEN professionals.
We are looking for
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with autism.
  • Secondary-school or specialist SEN experience is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of strategies used to support ASD.
  • Patient and consistent communication.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualifications are beneficial.
