SEN Teaching Assistant - FY3 Area | September Start

Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the FY3 area from September.

This rewarding role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing school environment.

The Role
  • Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant position
  • September start
  • Supporting a KS1 child on a 1:1 basis
  • Implementing tailored support strategies in line with the child's individual needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Assisting with both academic and social development throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a proactive and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who has:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
  • Experience working with pupils in KS1
  • A strong understanding of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
