The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team from October 2026. This is a long-term, full-time position for the full academic year, working 1:1 with a pupil who requires additional support within a mainstream primary school.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to provide consistent and tailored support, helping the pupil to access the curriculum and fully engage in school life.

The role will involve supporting the pupil both academically and socially, encouraging their confidence, independence and development throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have a patient and nurturing approach, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.

Previous experience working on a 1:1 basis with children with SEN is desirable, although candidates with relevant transferable experience and a strong commitment to inclusive education will also be considered.
