SEN Teaching Assistant - Towcester
Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire

We are working in partnership with a well-established and inclusive secondary school in Towcester that is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with additional needs, promote inclusion, and contribute to high standards of teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.
The Role
Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Key Stages 3 and 4
Working 1:1 and with small groups to support engagement, progress, and independence
Assisting teaching staff in delivering accessible and inclusive secondary curriculum lessons
Supporting students' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and social development
Helping to maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Adapting resources and approaches to meet individual learning needs
Encouraging high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement

Are passionate about making a difference for young people with additional needs

Want to gain or build experience in a secondary school setting

We Are Looking For Someone Who
Has GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Is patient, resilient, and able to adapt to changing classroom situations
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
Can build positive relationships with students and staff
Is reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Can support behaviour management in line with school policies
Has experience working with young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar-desirable but not essential)
Is eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
