SEN Teaching Assistant – UB7
Location: UB7, London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 3-form entry mainstream primary school in UB7 from September 2026. The successful candidate will support pupils within the school’s SEN provision, providing targeted support to help children access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
The school is seeking a compassionate and patient individual with previous experience supporting children with additional needs. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and the wider support team to provide high-quality support tailored to pupils’ individual needs.
The Role:
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs within the school’s SEN provision
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Deliver targeted interventions and support strategies planned by the class teacher and SENCO
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
- Assist with adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEN team
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO and external professionals where required
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role
- Experience supporting children with additional needs within a school setting
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning, communication and emotional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
