SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception Class

Full-Time | 5.5 Hours per Day | Monday to Friday

Veritas Education are looking to recruit a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs within a Reception class at a welcoming primary school in Burnley.
This rewarding role will involve working closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, helping them to develop their communication, social skills, confidence and independence in a nurturing Early Years environment.
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with Special Educational Needs.
- Supporting pupils with their learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
- Assisting with interventions and activities tailored to individual needs.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies and individual learning plans.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children to reach their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, either in schools, nurseries or similar settings.
- Experience supporting children with Autism, Speech and Language needs, ADHD or other additional needs would be advantageous.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young children and helping them succeed.
