Sen Teaching Assistant

Vision for Education - Manchester

The School & Role

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across the Denton area of Manchester. Positions are available from September, with earlier start dates considered for suitable candidates. This is a long-term opportunity, with additional day-to-day supply work also available.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties.

You will support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, build positive relationships, and achieve their individual learning and developmental goals. You will adapt learning activities, encourage independence, and use positive behaviour strategies to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Working collaboratively with school staff and families, you will play an important role in supporting pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, communication skills, and personal development throughout the school day.

This opportunity would suit an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEND Support Worker, Classroom Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Inclusion Support Assistant, or Education Support Worker looking to make a positive difference in local schools.

To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant position in Manchester, you should have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs within a school, specialist setting, childcare environment, care setting, or similar role, or hold a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
