SEN TEACHERS NEEDED – BIRMINGHAM

Smile Education are currently recruiting passionate and experienced SEN Teachers to work across a range of primary schools, specialist provisions and alternative provision settings throughout Birmingham. We have a variety of opportunities available, including day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements, as well as full-time and part-time positions. Whether you are looking for flexible supply work or a consistent long-term role, we have opportunities to suit a range of experience and availability.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environment where pupils with additional needs can thrive.

Depending on the setting, your responsibilities may include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Teaching pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and complex learning needs
  • Creating personalised learning programmes in line with EHCPs and individual targets
  • Differentiating lessons and using a range of teaching strategies to support different learning styles
  • Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress
  • Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Managing behaviour using positive and consistent strategies
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents/carers and external professionals
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, progress meetings and wider school planning
  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion and independence at all times
We work with a wide range of schools across Birmingham, including mainstream primary schools, specialist SEN settings and alternative provision. Our schools are looking for teachers who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and who can create a positive classroom environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Qualified Teachers with QTS
  • Teachers with previous SEN experience
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A creative and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A caring, patient and resilient approach
