SEN Tutor – Southend-on-Sea

Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Pay: £25–£35 per hour
Hours: 10–15 hours tuition + 2–3 paid planning & preparation hours per student, per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime | PAYE

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people aged 5–25 across Southend-on-Sea.

We support learners who may be unable to access mainstream education or require individualised support due to SEND, SEMH, anxiety, EBSA or other barriers to education.

Each student package typically provides 10–15 hours of direct tuition plus 2–3 additional paid planning and preparation hours per week, providing approximately 12–18 paid hours per student. Opportunities are available to support multiple learners and build a fuller timetable.

The role includes:

• Delivering personalised 1:1 English and Maths tuition

• Adapting learning around individual needs, abilities and interests

• Supporting engagement, confidence and emotional regulation

• Working towards EHCP outcomes and individual targets

• Planning resources and monitoring progress through weekly reports

We welcome qualified teachers, experienced SEN tutors, HLTAs and education professionals with experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA and other additional needs.

What we offer: £25–£35 per hour, additional paid PPA time, weekly PAYE pay, free specialist CPD and opportunities to build a consistent weekly timetable.
