SEN Tutor / Qualified Teacher – Lewisham

£25.00–£35.00 per hour PAYE + Paid Planning & Preparation Time

Equivalent to approximately £30.00–£42.00 per hour

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced Tutors and Qualified Teachers to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people across Lewisham.

This rewarding role is ideal for education professionals who are passionate about helping learners overcome barriers to education and achieve positive academic and personal outcomes.

Many learners require support due to SEND, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH needs, anxiety, school avoidance (EBSA), EHCP-linked needs, medical needs, or Alternative Provision.

The Role

You will:

• Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition tailored to individual learner needs

• Support learners across Primary, KS3, GCSE and Functional Skills

• Deliver English and Maths tuition

• Adapt learning to suit EHCP outcomes and individual learning styles

• Build positive relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and independence

• Complete session reports and monitor learner progress

• Work collaboratively with families, schools, Local Authorities, and other professionals

• SEMH needs

• Anxiety and EBSA

• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

• Medical needs

Requirements

✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or substantial tutoring experience

✔ Confidence delivering both English and Maths tuition

✔ Experience supporting children and young people with SEND

✔ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

✔ Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one

✔ Right to work in the UK
