SEN TUTOR
Remedy Education
You will ideally have experience providing 1:1 and small group tuition for students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including but not limited to, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia.
You should feel confident in your ability to:
- Assess, plan and implement bespoke lessons to meet the individual learning needs and abilities of each student
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, adapting teaching methods and materials to ensure student progress
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, and school staff
- Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and achievements
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, encouraging their confidence and self-esteem
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and often challenging behaviours
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students that have disengaged from learning
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in student's lives
- An enhanced DBS check (ideally on the update service)
- Previous experience working within a school or tutoring environment
- Specific training or qualifications related to SEN, such as TEACCH, Makaton, or Autism Awareness - desirable
