Zest Education is delighted to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bow, E3, in the recruitment of a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified SENCO to play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs and leading SEND provision across the school. The position is initially for the Autumn Term 2026 on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week), with the possibility of continuing beyond the initial contract for the right candidate.

What the role involves:

  • Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school
  • Identifying, assessing and monitoring pupils with additional needs
  • Managing and reviewing EHCPs, SEND support plans and annual reviews
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals
  • Advising staff on effective interventions and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Supporting the development of whole-school SEND practice
  • Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent SENCO qualification
  • Previous SENCO experience within a primary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • A proactive, compassionate and child-centred approach
