Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive school in Blackburn to recruit an experienced SEND Administrator for a temporary assignment anticipated to last 4-6 weeks in the first instance, with the potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented administrator who can hit the ground running and provide essential support to the school's SEND provision.
Your New Role
Working closely with the SENDCo, senior leaders, teaching staff and external agencies, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth administration of the SEND department.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining accurate SEND records and student files.
- Supporting the administration of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Monitoring annual review processes and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Preparing documentation for reviews, meetings and consultations with parents and external professionals.
- Liaising with local authorities, parents, carers and external agencies regarding SEND procedures.
- Updating and maintaining information on the school's management information system.
- Tracking SEND interventions, provision maps and pupil progress information.
- Supporting applications for additional funding and SEND-related submissions.
- Producing reports, letters and correspondence for the SEND department.
- Ensuring all information is managed in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working within a school SEND or education administration role.
- A sound understanding of EHCP processes and SEND procedures.
- Experience working with school MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required.
