SEND Learning Support Assistant - Post-16 / Sixth Form

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Hillingdon, supporting students within a Post-16 / Sixth Form setting.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), helping them to develop their independence, communication skills and confidence as they prepare for adulthood.

The Role:

• Supporting students with SLD on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Assisting with communication, social development and life skills.
• Supporting students with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Promoting independence and preparing students for life beyond education.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with SEND, particularly SLD, is desirable
• Previous experience working with children in 6th form
• A patient, proactive and nurturing approach.
• Comfortable supporting students with complex needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passionate about making a positive difference to young people's lives.
