We are recruiting on behalf of welcoming and supportive primary SEND schools in Walsall that are looking for experienced teachers to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties and complex learning needs.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, SEND professionals, therapists and school leadership teams to ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and other additional needs.
Adapting teaching strategies to meet a range of learning abilities and EHCP outcomes.
Creating a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom environment where every pupil can thrive.
Managing behaviour using positive and consistent behaviour management strategies.
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, parents, therapists and external agencies.
Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records.
Supporting annual reviews and contributing towards EHCP targets where appropriate.
We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from teachers who have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or
Demonstrable experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

SEND schools.
Mainstream primary schools with significant SEND responsibilities.
Specialist resource bases or alternative provisions.
Teaching pupils with Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, speech and language needs or complex learning difficulties.

Successful candidates will also have:

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
The ability to differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A creative, flexible and nurturing approach to teaching.
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven experience teaching pupils with SEND.
Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons.
Strong knowledge of effective behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies.
No training will be provided. Successful candidates must already have the relevant experience and be able to undertake the role confidently from day one.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable. If you do not currently hold one, you will be required to obtain and pay for your own Enhanced DBS check before starting work.
