Cover People are recruiting for a Primary Complex Needs SEND Teacher!

Cover People are working with a specialist primary school in Salford that is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and nurturing Complex Needs SEND Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The Basics:

Role: Primary Complex Needs SEND Teacher at a specialist school in Salford
Start: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term, with potential to become permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, full time
Pay: £160–£230 per day DOE – paid PAYE directly through Cover People. We do not use umbrella companies!
Equal pay: Equal pay to permanent staff in the same role from the 13th week of your placement onwards.

NB: Mainstream Primary Teachers with experience supporting pupils with complex needs, autism or within SEND/specialist settings are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Get Out of It:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of pupils with complex needs.
• Monitor and assess pupil development, contributing towards EHCP outcomes and providing meaningful feedback.
• Create a safe, positive and nurturing classroom environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their potential.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, support staff, school leaders, therapists and other professionals.
• Support pupils with their communication, emotional development, independence and academic progress.
• Use positive and consistent behaviour management strategies to support pupils and maintain a calm learning environment.
• Take part in staff meetings, school activities, training and ongoing professional development.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Have experience planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with additional needs.
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills alongside a patient, calm and nurturing approach.
• Have a genuine passion for working with children with SEND and complex needs.
• Be confident building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Be adaptable, proactive and comfortable working collaboratively as part of a specialist team.

What We Need from You:

• An up-to-date CV covering your full education and employment history.
• Proof of Right to Work and UK address.
• A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• At least 2 professional references.
• A reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking approach.
